Opened December 1912 in the opera house of 1903; the architect was Roy Jackson.
Various owners over the years. Alterations in August 1921 by JD Swanston.
Closed March 1955, then used as store.
Demolished in the 1980s, when the interior was stripped and removed to Florida.
It re-opened in 1989 as the The Harold E. and Esther M. Mertz Theatre in the
Asolo Center for the Performing Arts, seating 500. The removal and refurbishment cost $15 million.
