Electric Theatre
Upper Craigs

Opened in November 1912, with one handcranked projector. First show screened "A Forged Pass," "The Plumber," "Frenzy Firewater," "The Boobe," "The Vow of Yozobel," "More Haste Less Speed" and "Her Ladyship`s Dog." Second week "The Coming of Christopher Columbus" was screened, which sounds more of a blockbuster of its time, advertised as taking six years to make and costing £6000!
Not sure when it closed as a cinema, but I think it only lasted a few years. It was originally a garage and reverted back to a garage again later.
